IN THE ARCHITECTURE
Three stacked layers. A physical edge of rugged sensors and edge processors; an intelligence core running real-time AI and an RTOS; and a digital cloud for analytics and model training. Data rises from the edge to the cloud, and trained models return to the edge, closing the loop.

CHALLENGE
Deliver diagnostic capability into settings where neither a clinician nor a dependable network can be assumed — deployments across South Africa and the Middle East.
A device that needs connectivity to decide is not a device that works in those settings. It is a terminal for a service that is not always there.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Sensing at the edge, inference on the device rather than in the cloud, and a clinician view fed by the link when a link exists. The decision does not wait for connectivity.
The return path carries improved models back to the device, so the installed base gets better after shipping rather than being frozen at the version it left with.
Edge sensing feeds on-device inference, which reports to a clinician cloud view when a link is available.

ENGINEERING DECISIONS
OUTCOME
Precision engineering, automation and medical support systems merged into one deployable unit — accessible, intelligent healthcare delivered as a system rather than as a device.
The compliance dimension was carried through development rather than retrofitted, which is the only point at which validation evidence can be produced honestly.
